Saddler was a Paladin.

Appearance[]

He was a man with a sharp impression similar to that of a bladed tool. He wears a deep scarlet plate mail on his body. And had several swords in his possession. There were two swords on each of his left and right sides of his waist, and two more on his back, for a total of six long swords. Also, there was a fixed dagger on his belt.

In contrast to his appearance that looked like he was in wartime, the man expressed a smile that looked like he was a good person.

Personality[]

At first glance, he seems to be a person who loves people of the races because they have been blessed by gods and are their descendants as well as hate those considered "Demon Lord Worshippers" (since they are turning against God and the races to follow the Demon King).

In truth, he is a person who uses the "suspicion of being a Demon King Worshipper" to arrest the person/people of suspect of going against the church and it's corrupt actions, tortures them until they confess to false charges, and executes them in the name of God and the church. Basically, he is an unexpected and untrustworthy person who would place suspicion on innocent people.

He has also deluded himself into believing that he is God who has been given physical form. Along with that, he believes that the torture he brings on people falsely accused as Demon Lord Worshippers isn't "torture" but an act of "bringing salvation" on people who made the mistake of worshiping the Demon Lord and their eventual death is "God (and Saddler) forgiving them and inviting them into heaven". He also believes that removing the unique body parts of demi-humans brings them closer to being a normal proper human; showing signs of demi-human discrimination.

Due to his delusions of being God, Saddler severely overestimated his own strength and underestimated the power of a Demon Lord, this is seen where he believed that he was more than powerful enough to defeat a fully revived Krebskulm. However upon seeing the vast difference of power, he immediately fell into hysteric panic and denial on the fact that he wasn't "God" and he is killed for his sadist actions. Ironically, he dies as a mortal and not a god as he work so hard in vain to achieve and showed nothing for it.

Plot[]

Volume 3[]

Three days pass and Diablo's group dine at a restaurant filled with cats until they're visited by Alicia who implores that they return to the Peace of Mind Inn. Walking to the inn, Alicia warns the group that a Paladin known as Saddler is in the town and is out to hunt worshipers of the Demon Lord. Furthermore, his strength and power is said to be equal or greater than Galford. Despite their efforts to try and avoid a confrontation with Saddler, the group runs into him and his subordinates. Saddler introduces himself and his title. Diablo then tries to introduce himself in a "normal" fashion, he openly introduces himself in his normal pretentious character persona. Taking account that Diablo a self-proclaimed Demon Lord, Saddler readies himself to dispose of his target. Stepping in to defend Diablo, Rem tries to reason with Saddler only for the Paladin to incapacitate her with a magical spell. Diablo, however, manages to dispel the magic used on Rem. After a brief argument between Diablo and Saddler, the Paladin casts Cement Lock on the Demon Lord only for it to be reflected back on him, freezing him into stone and losing the battle. As Saddler's subordinates then carry away their petrified leader, Alicia asks why Diablo didn't finish Saddler off, to which, he answers small fries pose no threat. However, if he were to challenge him again, he will deal with him accordingly.

Saddler is shown to be free from his petrification, angered by his defeat and humiliation and threatens to get revenge on the Demon Lord. Meanwhile, down a dark and narrow alley, Alicia holds Kelm by her wrist and Rem states her curiosity as to where Alicia is leading them too, Alicia reveals her true nature and intentions to have Klem regain her memories for her to become the Demon Lord Krebskulm. It's also revealed that Alicia was the one who convinced Galluk to sacrifice himself to summon Gregore into the city. The group is then confronted by Saddler and his subordinates and Alicia puts on an act that implicates Rem and Klem as Demon Lord worshipers. In retaliation, Rem summons Asulau, but Saddler's subordinates restrain it and Saddler finishes Asulau off. Rem then tries and attack Saddler, however, he uses his magic to restrain her. As Rem fades out of consciousness Alicia whispers into her ear that "She" needs hatred.

Inside of the church is an assortment of torture weapons and Rem openly proclaims her refusal to admit that she's a Demon Lord Worshiper. Contrary to that statement, Saddler still believes Rem is a Demon Lord Worshiper. With Rem restrained, Saddler announces his intentions to purify Rem by slicing off her ears and tail. Rem then tries to plea for help from Alicia, however, she refuses and leaves Saddler to do his business.

Saddler readies himself to purify Rem, but is attacked by Klem whose identity as a Fallen is revealed. Drawing his swords at Klem, he tries to attack her, but Rem protects Klem by embracing her and taking the sword blow onto her back. Just as Klem promises to deal with Saddler and his subordinates, Saddler stabs several swords into Rem's back. This causes Klem to expel a serge of energy from her body and Rem then realizes what Alicia meant when she told her that "she needs hatred". Now that Klem was fully awaken as Krebskulm, Saddler tries to control her, but fails is he is overwhelmed by her power and his eyes bleed out because of it. Failing to control the demon, a hysterical and delusion Saddler yells out if he's really a god as he is soon killed and murdered by Klem, putting an end to his sadistic plans to become a god for good and ironically dying as a pathetic mortal he is.

Abilities[]

As a Holy Knight, Sadraa has abilities of both a Knight and a Sorcerer. His skills with magic, as deduced by Diablo, is greater than 60. Rem surmises that Saddler's true strength as a Warrior/Knight draws near Feudal Lord Galford's strength since Saddler was capable of quickly slaying her gigantic summoned beast with only a couple of thrusts of his sword; something like that was not common. Combining his skills as a Magician with the sword techniques of a Knight, his synthetic level is much higher.

His favorite tactic to fight his enemy is before the enemy attacks him.  He orders his subordinate knights to become his shield and the knights line up, so they can take the enemy's attacks, even if they are injured or killed by the attack.

Equipment[]

  • Deep Scarlet Platemail Armor: it has defensive magic cast on it to better protect Saddler from physical and magical attacks.
  • Six Long Swords
  • Dagger

Skill[]

  • Subtle Chant》: A skill one learns once they reached level 60 in the Sorcerer series. It is a skill that reduces the Cast Time of a magic spell. In the Other World It also allows a sorcerer to cast a spell without the use of a magic tool or weapon and without saying the aria of magic.

Spells[]

  • Stun》: A bad status type magic that incapacitates the opponent from moving or retaliating in any way.
  • Cement Lock》: It is an Earth attribute bad status magic. It causes the bad status effect 《Petrification》 on his opponent.
  • Flare Burst》: Saddler's maximum magic spell. Therefore it is the most powerful spell that Saddler currently knows. A superior version of the 《Explosion》 spell.
